2024 Midwest Regional Poster Contest

Teams - you can design the 2024 Midwest Regional Poster! The objective of this contest is to provide an opportunity for members of your team to showcase their talents by designing a poster for the 2024 Midwest Regional. The winning poster design will be featured as submitted and credited to its creator(s) on the Midwest Regional web page and used by the Midwest Regional Planning Committee in any advertising and promotion of the event. In addition, a digital copy of the winning entry will be distributed to all teams participating at the Midwest Regional and recognized during one of the Regional's ceremonies. The winning poster design along with any honorable mention poster designs will also be displayed at the Midwest Regional.

2024 Midwest Regional Poster Contest Guidelines & Rules

  • Thursday, February 1st - Poster Submission Opens
  • Friday, March 1st @ 12:00 PM CST - Poster Submission Deadline
  • Monday, March 18th - Winning Poster Announced & Emailed to all MWR Teams
  • March 28th - March 30th, 2024 - Recognition of Winning Poster at the Midwest Regional

  • Open to all registered 2024 Midwest Regional teams
    • Each team can submit up to three different entries. If the artist is different, please send each entry as a separate e-mail.
  • Must be in digital format with BOTH .jpg AND .pdf formats. (Please no Photoshop or other software specific formats.)
  • Poster must be 12 inches by 18 inches (Please try to achieve this ratio so we can ensure a good print)
    • This is equivalent to 305 mm by 457 mm

Below are key phrases and graphics that should be incorporated into the poster design. Please ensure that anything in quotation marks is used exactly as written (unless otherwise noted).

  • Posters MUST contain the following Items:
    • “Midwest Regional”
    • “Credit Union 1 Arena” 
    • “Chicago, IL”
    • “March 29th & 30th, 2024”
    • “9am - 5pm” or “9:00 AM to 5:00 PM” (slight variations are acceptable)
    • “Free Admission”
    • FIRST Illinois Robotics Logo
    • “http://www.FIRSTIllinoisRobotics.org” (slight variations are ok)
    • Mentioning Robots or Robotics, ex. “Robotics Competition” or “The Robots are COMING!”
  • Recommended Items:

      • Photographs used must have permission to be used by the photographer. If the photograph is not original work of the artist please attach permission of the photographer.
    • Custom artwork
    • Team name or number

  • Entries must be emailed to [email protected]
  • Email subject should be in the following format “MWR Poster - {Team No.} - {Artist First Name Last Initial}”.
    • For Example: “MWR Poster - 1 - Dean K”
  • Body of the email should contain the following:
    • Team Name
    • Team Number
    • Artist Name (first name and last initial)
    • Name of a Mentor Contact for the student submitting
    • Email Address of a Mentor Contact for the student submitting

  • The contest winner(s) will be decided by the Midwest Regional Planning Committee and will be notified on or after March 18th, 2024 via the Mentor Contact.
  • The winning poster design will be featured as submitted and credited to the creator(s) on the Midwest Regional web page, and used by the Midwest Regional Planning Committee in any advertising and/or promotion of the event.
  • A digital copy of the winning poster design will be emailed to all participating teams for their use in PR, marketing, brochures, school/community flyers, invitations, newsletters, etc.
  • The winning team/individual will receive special acknowledgement and recognition at the Midwest Regional
  • Upon discretion of the Midwest Regional Planning Committee, Honorable Mention(s) may be posted on the Midwest Regional web page to give recognition to additional artists.
